As an artist I have found that about 90% of my clients ask for a nude lip. I am also a culprit of playing it safe with a nude for a night out. It’s just so much easier! No having to worry about the colour bleeding, or getting lipstick smudges all over your face after eating. I also feel that with heavy, ‘going out’ makeup a nude always looks best. Below are some of my absolute favourite nude liner and lipsticks combinations.
This is probably my all time go to lip combination. This will leave a matte finish on the lips. HoneyLove is a light beige colour, whereas as Iconic nude is a little deeper in colour. The deeper liner will give your lips more definition and the lighter shade of lipstick will make your lips appear fuller and ‘pouty’. However the transition between the colours is not too drastic and they blend well together.
These colours have been a new obsession of mine. The lipstick is more of a satin finish meaning it will be a lot more hydrating, yet not too sheer and still strong in colour. Stripdown again is slightly darker than the lipstick, more of a brown beige. Peachstock is a light peachy colour. Together they look amazing!
When working for Illamasqua this was my everyday lip colour. The lipstick is extremely matte, so scraping some from the bullet and applying it with a lip brush makes life a lot easier. This combination has a slight pink tone to it. Therefore if you’re not a fan of completely neutral lips, this would be the nude for you.
